Caretaker's House Restoration   


During 2010 the following tasks were completed:

-removed 20 cubic yards of moldy basement contents,

-general cleanup of main floor,

-rehabilitation of water damaged front porch,

rgh_s-2-removal of original roof, and replacement with 50-year composition roof,

-partial insulation of walls,

-relocation of electrical service panel and re-wiring of main floor,


Tasks were completed by CLSR volunteer crews, with the help of The Washington Conservation Corp, and Transition Whatcomwith generous donations and services from the following local businesses and organizations: 

Top Gun Roofing, AA Anderson & Company, Construction Supply Company, Sanitary Services Company, Allied Waste, Recycling & Disposal Services, Beattie’s Mobile Lock Service, Landmark Enterprises, Overhead Door Company, Wilson Engineering, The Garden Spot, Sound Electric, David Bradley Engineering, Builders Alliance, Carlson Steel, Whatcom County Opportunity Council’s Building Performance Center, and Bellingham Carpenter’s Local 756.


Projects for 2011 include:

-replace broken windows,

-complete insulation of walls & ceiling,

-install gutters, downspouts and rainwater catchment system,

-exterior painting,

-remodeling of back porch to accommodate ADA access ramp,

-bring kitchen and bathroom back into usable condition,

-paint interior.
